Bici elettriche che sfrecciano come motorini? Non è più fantasia: nelle strade di Milano le eBike irregolari erano diventate una vera emergenza per la sicurezza. Finalmente, i controlli sono arrivati… e i risultati sono clamorosi.
54 bici sequestrate e quasi 400 mila euro di multe
Il 4 e 5 luglio, i Carabinieri dell’Aliquota Infortunistica del Nucleo Radiomobile, insieme al personale della Compagnia Milano Duomo e del 3° Reggimento Lombardia, hanno messo nel mirino le eBike truccate. Su 71 bici controllate, 54 erano irregolari e sequestrate, con un totale di 271 contravvenzioni che hanno generato multe per 378.000 euro.
La normativa è chiara: le eBike devono essere a pedalata assistita, con motore che aiuta solo fino a 25 km/h. Peccato che molti rider abbiano trasformato le bici in veri e propri accelerati, capaci di raggiungere velocità medie di 40 km/h e punte record fino a 70 km/h.
Controlli hi-tech per fermare i “furbetti”
Come si fa a scoprire chi sfora i limiti? I Carabinieri hanno usato un dispositivo simile a un banco prova a rulli per auto, in grado di misurare velocità e caratteristiche tecniche di ogni eBike. Obiettivo: garantire sicurezza per tutti e mettere un freno a un fenomeno in crescita, soprattutto tra i rider del food delivery.
La strada verso una mobilità più sicura
Le eBike truccate non sono più un mistero. Milano ha dato il primo segnale concreto: chi non rispetta le regole paga, e le strade diventano più sicure. Resta da vedere se altre città seguiranno l’esempio e metteranno un freno alle bici “superveloci” e fuori norma.

On July 4th and 5th, the Carabinieri of the Accident Investigation Unit of the Mobile Nucleus, together with personnel from the Milan Duomo Company and the 3rd Lombardy Regiment, targeted tuned eBikes. Out of 71 bikes checked, 54 were illegal and seized, resulting in 271 fines totaling €378,000.
The law is clear: eBikes must be pedal-assist only, with motors helping up to 25 km/h. Unfortunately, many riders have turned their bikes into full-fledged scooters, reaching average speeds of 40 km/h and record peaks up to 70 km/h.
High-Tech Checks to Catch Rule-Breakers
How do authorities spot the rule-breakers? The Carabinieri used a device similar to a roller test bench for cars, capable of measuring speed and technical specs for each eBike. The goal: ensure safety for everyone and put a stop to a growing phenomenon, especially among food delivery riders.
