Actor (and audience) pedal for sustainability.

Pollution, climate change, migration, hardship, crisis: even in the era of well-being and happiness that seems guaranteed by the possibility of satisfying all one's desires in real time, without waiting too long, the problems and sufferings are not over. Indeed, the more it is produced and the more it is consumed in an unsustainable way, the more humanity puts a strain on the limits of planet Earth.

Everyone is therefore called to do their part, in every situation and in every activity to reduce the impact of our presence on Earth. Even when you go to the theater to have fun or to disconnect from everyday stress. Even an evening at the theater can therefore turn into an opportunity to reflect on sustainability and individual responsibility, but also to implement virtuous behavior.

This is the spirit with which Daniele Ronco proposed in Milan, on February 21 and 22 at the Teatro Linguaggi creativi, his show "I break down and I'm happy", a sustainable and zero-impact monologue. Because the interpreter-protagonist from the stage produces the energy necessary to feed the show itself.

Ronco presented himself on stage astride the old Bianchi of his grandfather Michele, who for all his 91 years lived on the low consumption lowlands of Turin, without wasting anything, protagonist of a natural economy that was enough for itself. That bicycle has become the narrative pretext to tell that world, with a nostalgia that wants to recover the spirit of genuine self-sufficiency and essentiality that is inspired by happy degrowth.

Mate.bike

Not just parkas and down jackets. Moncler Genius 2020 also travels on two wheels. Determined to explore new territories, Remo Ruffini has partnered with Mate.bike, the electric folding bicycle project launched in Copenhagen in 2016 by brothers Christian Adel Michael and Julie Kronstrøm Carton and immediately became a sales success on Indiegogo. Danish managers are the ones who tell the story of the encounter with the Italian brand: "Mate.bike and Moncler both combine extreme needs with the daily life of the city. Moncler has been a brand for 70 years known for its exclusive clothing and it is exactly what Mate.bike is becoming in the bicycle sector: we are a perfect couple », assures Christian Adel Michael. The Moncler logo stands out on one side of the frame. "We saw an opportunity for the latest Mate X model, much more powerful than the previous one. It can take you where no electric bike has gone before. A narrative that perfectly matches the Moncler Genius DNA and from which the idea of Mate, Mountain & Moncler was born ".

What message do you want to send? «Design guides desirability and change. Moncler is making great strides in sustainability and is expanding into new categories. We firmly believe that making products interesting and desirable will encourage behavioral change. We want people to consider an ebike not only a practical choice, green or healthy, but also an expression of themselves, a sign of identity - Julie intervenes -. The hope is that the elegant-looking ebike will convince more and more people to abandon their cars to accelerate the green revolution ". What are the characteristics of Moncler Mate.bike? «It is the most powerful model ever. It has a customized 1000W calibrated motor that offers sufficient pedal assistance to face the hills and mountains. The speed will be limited to local regulations, however, by typing a code, in private properties and in recreational areas you can unlock the full potential of your Mate and you can push yourself near 50 km / h. We will also have a version for Europe that has 250 W. The ebike is equipped with global connectivity (integrated sim-card), which serves both for updates and as an anti-theft device. Furthermore, we will be able to follow you at a distance and see if the bicycle needs assistance ». The new Mate X was also developed thanks to crowdfunding, raising the astronomical figure of 13,381,963 dollars. "Crowdfunding is a tool to help entrepreneurs and creative souls to bring their idea on a global scale - explains Julie -. This type of financing continues to grow worldwide: it can eliminate the need for financing from banks or other institutions for start-ups with limited liquidity from the outset and also offers input from customers (supporters) directly in the development. I believe we will see steady growth in the coming years also in what is now the multibillion dollar industry. "

A bicycle tour from Manchester to Castelfidardo in 19 stages dedicated to music.
Cycling Soundtrack is the adventure of the young bassist and composer Andrea Gobbi last summer.

Andrea, originally from Castelfidardo, approached the world of music from a very young age playing first the guitar in his parish and then the clarinet in the town band. At the age of 14 came the discovery of groups such as Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin and the American punk scene. The passion for these genres explodes both for Andrea and his friends, and the idea of giving life to a band was born.

«Everyone wanted to play the guitar, including me, and nobody played the bass. So I decided to buy a bass guitar - he told us. But unless you are a genius, to enter the music scene you have to go to the city and, as everyone says, make contact - which for me has always been more playing with as many people as possible ».

Having reached the age of majority, therefore, Andrea moved to Milan and then to Manchester to pursue his passion, which has now also become his job. The idea of returning home by bicycle was born during the spring of 2019, a bit to combine the desire for adventure, attention to the environment and passion for music. «I asked myself how to make room for music on this trip, because I don't feel comfortable playing on the streets. So I thought of recording the people and the sounds I crossed along my path ».

Put down the stages between Great Britain, France and Italy, and found hospitality of friends, acquaintances, or through online communities such as Couchsurfing and Warm-showers who are used to hosting travelers from all over the world, Andrea leaves on 29 July. Armed with a MIDI keyboard, microphones, a PC and recorder, Andrea pedal from stage to stage, sometimes delaying the arrival because absorbed in capturing the beauty of a gash, the sound of a waterfall or the sound of a cow.

The evenings are all different. In London, for example, he meets his sound friend Milo Benericetti who accompanied him on a tour with the usual idiots. This time he is working for Ludovico Einaudi, and introduces Andrea to two musicians, violin and cello, who accompany the well-known pianist. Federico Mecozzi and Radi Hasa thus lend themselves to play and be recorded by Andrea. Other evenings, to open the door of the house and to play with Andrea were amateur musicians and even people fasting for music, who however did not lack inventiveness and enthusiasm. "Most of the hosts had been warned in advance of the project and were curious about the idea of hosting this character who came by bicycle and wanted to register you."

Living every day in a different house was beautiful and electrifying, and the enthusiasm for the adventure regularly swept away the tiredness of the journey, which is about to become a film. With the release of the documentary, scheduled for March, in addition to telling his adventure, Andrea hopes to convey two messages. On the one hand, it is possible to organize your holidays in a different, and perhaps simpler, way, by cycling and asking people for hospitality. On the other hand, to make music you don't necessarily need to be virtuous musicians. «Music is not only school, it is also passion».

https://worldbicyclerelief.org/

I numeri ad oggi:

   500.000 bici donate
2.500,000 vite migliorate
134.000 sostenitori in tutto il mondo

With World Bicycle Relief, only 134 euros are enough to "adopt" a bicycle and allocate it to those who need it in Africa.

To reach the sum, you can leave small offers in the bicycle shops that support the initiative.
Owning a bicycle in Africa means having access to education and medical care.
In rural areas, schools, health centers, water wells are often very far from villages and most of the time public transport is lacking.

Historical ruling in Belgium: stealing bicycles is an ecological crime.

The Brussels Criminal Court established this.

A forty-year-old man arrested in the act of stealing a bicycle from Auderghem was sentenced to three years in prison for "ecological crime" by the 57th chamber of the Criminal Court of Brussels, which emerged from a sentence pronounced in the absence of he warned and mentioned in the Sudpresse titles.

"It is therefore advisable to severely punish the accused who commits crimes the seriousness of which is important for the planet, since the private victim of his bicycle has no choice but to use much more polluting means of transport and thus contributing to global warming and all this to allow the accused to buy narcotics, "said the judge.

The accused had already been arrested 44 times by the police between 1995 and 2019, so he accumulated no less than 17 prison sentences for a total of more than twelve years in prison.

In his absence Thursday, the king's prosecutor then asked for his immediate arrest, a request that was granted by the president of the chamber.
