A few days ago a "strange" school-table entered the school of Valgella in Teglio.

It looks like a classic exercise bike, but instead of the handlebar it has a shelf on which to place books, notebooks, pens, pencils.

His name is "bike-bench" and is the reproduction of the invention of Mario Leroux, a Canadian pedagogist who, with this tool, has thought of helping students with Adhd (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) suffering from 5 to 8 percent of pupils.

Male student are more likely, almost three times, to be affected than females.

"There are many hyperactive children who just can not stand still - explains Laura Branchi, deputy director of the comprehensive Institute of Teglio -. They need to move; so, doing some research, I found information on the bike-bench. I asked FabLab Sondrio if they could have made one for us and the social promotion association, with whom we have already collaborated in the past, has once again been close to us. He built the bicycle-bench he donated to the Teglio Institute. Of this we are very grateful to the group volunteers who are always available as well as professional. We tried to use it and I must say that it is very useful, because it helps the students to channel the energies. In practice, the child can read while pedaling ». It takes only fifteen minutes to "vent" the bright silver that the kids have inside, producing results for themselves (they manage their problem and at the same time work) and without disturbing the class.
