Tour Sic2Sic: in bicicletta per raccontare la biodiversità

Dal 24 settembre al 19 ottobre il Tour Sic2Sic percorrerà 1.000 Km in bicicletta per sensibilizzare cittadini, scuole, imprese e istituzioni sul significato e sull’importanza della Rete Natura 2000, il sistema di aree protette creato dall’Unione Europea per garantire il mantenimento a lungo termine degli habitat naturali e delle specie di flora e fauna minacciati.

progetto finanziato dal programma comunitario LIFE e guidato da ISPRA (Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale, ossia la principale istituzione italiana di studi ambientali) con la partecipazione di Ares 2.0, FIAB Federazione Italiana Ambiente e Bicicletta ed Enne3, il cui obiettivo è quello di portare tra la gente, le imprese e le istituzioni e le scuole i valori della biodiversità e della Rete Natura 2000* contribuendo a superare quella soglia del 44% di popolazione che dichiara di conoscere la biodiversità.

Partito nel maggio 2018 il progetto LIVE Sic2Sic si propone di percorrere in bicicletta 7 regioni italiane per un totale di 6.000 km e 100 tappe e, ad oggi, ha già coinvolto  Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Umbria, Sardegna e Piemonte, attraversando 650 comuni e 228 siti della Rete Natura 2000*, ovvero 3.500 km pedalati, 140 incontri istituzionali con le amministrazioni locali e le imprese, oltre 28 eventi informativi nelle scuole, 2.500 persone intervenute alle tappe pubbliche del tour e oltre 10.000 follower sui canali informativi Sic2Sic.

L’avventura LIVE Sic2Sic in bicicletta riparte martedì 24 settembre da Manfredonia per concludersi il 19 ottobre a Lecce: protagonista sarà questa volta la regione PUGLIA e i tantissimi siti della Rete Natura 2000* presenti nella regione. Fitto il calendario d’incontri istituzionali, attività di informazione nelle scuole ed eventi di dibattito pubblico sui molti temi che spiegano il valore della biodiversità.

The Sic2Sic LIVE bicycle adventure starts again on Tuesday 24 September from Manfredonia to end on 19 October in Lecce: this time the protagonist will be the PUGLIA region and the many sites of the Natura 2000 Network * present in the region. Full calendar of institutional meetings, information activities in schools and public debate events on the many themes that explain the value of biodiversity.
