Oggigiorno le biciclette elettriche sono sempre più diffuse negli Stati Uniti, dove nessuno le produce. Vengono importate e i prezzi sono appesantiti dai dazi dell’Amministrazione Trump sulle importazioni. È qui che entra in gioco Tesla, che dispone già degli strumenti necessari, dalla catena di approvvigionamento alla manodopera qualificata necessaria per realizzare in casa prodotti di questo tipo. Anzi, considerate le competenze aziendali, sfruttarle per produrre una bicicletta elettrica marcata Tesla sarebbe relativamente facile.
Sicuramente sarebbe diversa da qualsiasi altra cosa si sia vista finora.
Negli ultimi anni non ci sono stati cambiamenti estremi, come quelli che potrebbe fare l’azienda di Elon Musk. Il patron di Tesla non è sceso in particolari sul suo ipotetico prodotto, ma l’industrial designer Kendall Toerner ha lavorato di fantasia e ha disegnato la bicicletta del futuro come potrebbe immaginarla il vulcanico imprenditore.
Motori talmente ben nascosti da essere invisibili, telaio pieghevole, computer di bordo. Non sappiamo quanto di tutto questo diventerà realtà. Quello che è certo è che quando c’è di mezzo Musk il focus non è più “creare un prodotto”, ma trovare il prodotto capace di cambiare il futuro dei trasporti. Non è più costruire un mezzo di trasporto, ma realizzare un’impresa tecnologica che cambi il futuro di un’industria, qualcosa di leggendario.
