Commute Air Pro 18

E' uno zaino in poliestere riciclato dalle forme abbastanza convenzionali.

L’airbag posizionato in alto nello zaino viene gonfiato completamente in 200 millisecondi.

It is a recycled polyester backpack with fairly conventional shapes. In addition to a main compartment, it also has a side-accessible laptop compartment, an elastic side pocket and other pockets for smartphones and glasses.

While most of the backpacks for those traveling by bike simply allow you to carry your own things, the latest model from Evoc Sports offers something more. In the event of an accident, as in the case of the motorcycle airbag, here is the bicycle airbag to protect the cyclist's upper body.

The chest strap of the Commute Air Pro 18 incorporates an electrified magnetic buckle, which activates the motion sensors when it is snapped closed. These sensors measure the position and orientation of the backpack 1,000 times per second.

If a sudden change in these parameters is detected, the fall alarm is triggered. The airbag positioned at the top of the backpack is fully inflated in 200 milliseconds. It protects the rider's neck, shoulders, collarbone and chest, while the spine is further protected by one of Evoc's replaceable Liteshield-Plus back protection plates, integrated into the backpack.

The airbag has a volume of 18 liters and an air pressure of 0.4 bar when inflated, and begins to deflate within five seconds of opening. If it is not damaged it can be reused, although the CO2 cylinder that was used to inflate it will obviously have to be replaced. The battery that powers the motion sensors has an autonomy of about 32 hours of use.
