RELIEF

The e-bike with the lowest environmental impact on the market, at a competitive price and with components, transmission excluded, totally made in Europe. We are talking about Relief, a project by former French cyclist Félix Hébert, who founded Cyclik in 2017 and focused on the production of bicycles made of bamboo, an ecological material that is at the same time strong and workable. Until now, however, in his workshop in Lyon he has focused on the artisanal creation of muscle, racing and walking bikes.

In the last two years, alongside artisanal production, Hébert has focused on the industrial development of his company and on the creation of a more technological product, in line with the times but less expensive. Relief was born, a super ecological e-bike that already in production generates 35 times less CO2 emissions than a traditional e-bike. But this is only one aspect because the bike not only uses bamboo that has already been seen in some projects, but it is the only one totally made of bamboo with wicks for fixing, also 100% eco, made of linen. All at a price that is much lower than the muscle bikes it has produced so far and in line with those of the medium-high range market. The price of this e-bike starts from 3,500 euros thanks to a reduction in production time from 50 hours of the artisan bike to 5 for the pedal assisted one thanks to an investment of one and a half million euros that allowed it to industrialize the product and create a new dedicated line. In addition, this bike has almost exclusively European components.

In fact, if you exclude the Japanese Shimano transmission, the bamboo of the frame comes from Spain, linen, rims and wheels are French, German engine and batteries, English saddle and handlebars. And for once in a technological and ecological production like this, there is no trace of any Chinese component, a market leader in this field as well. Relief weighs just 16.5 kg, also thanks to the 250W Mahle Ebike motion X35 motor of only 2.1 kg and offers a range of 70 km with the 250 Wh battery which reaches 120 if a second, integrated 210Wh battery is added. .

It will be available in April and will cost 3,500 with a 10-year warranty.
