Sul tandem speciale il genitore o l'educatore guida e frena dal sellino dietro, il bimbo pedala rassicurato e coccolato sulla postazione davanti.
È l'ultimo acquisto della scuderia di Pino Marzano, che nella scuola di ciclismo Franco Ballerini del quartiere San Paolo già accoglie una quarantina di bambini e ragazzi autistici in collaborazione con l'Asfa Puglia.
"Ora siamo pronti ad allargare la platea grazie a due nuove arrivate - annuncia il presidente della scuola, Giuseppe Marzano, che nel cortile del Terzo municipio ha rinnovato attrezzature e circuiti - Si tratta di due handbike e hugbike: la prima servirà ad avviare al ciclismo bambini con difficoltà motorie, la seconda rappresenta il modello migliore per fare approcciare alle due ruote i ragazzi autistici e anche, per esempio, i non vedenti, che guidano in tandem con un accompagnatore".
Il prezioso dono è arrivato dalla Fondazione Vincenzo Casillo. Il modello dell'handbike è specifico per progetti di avviamento al ciclismo, che possano formare piccoli atleti in grado di usare (da professionisti) le celebri biciclette guidate da Alex Zanardi. Per la ripartenza, la scuola di ciclismo Ballerini si apre a nuovi iscritti e accoglie i ragazzi (e le loro famiglie) che vogliano provare l'handbike e l'hugbike.

Una piccola modifica per un grande, nobile, progetto".
Grazie a Urbis, Pino Marzano ha anche tagliato il nastro della rinnovata "Accademia della bici" (con ciclofficina mobile e skill park, un'area ludico didattica), realizzata dal Gruppo sportivo ciclistico dilettantistico di Bari che ormai dal 1997 opera a Bari, per portare avanti progetti che hanno come finalità l'organizzazione, la tutela e la promozione del ciclismo, con spirito inclusivo ed educativo.
Da settembre saranno coinvolte anche le scuole del quartiere San Paolo.

The precious gift came from the Vincenzo Casillo Foundation. The model of the handbike is specific for cycling projects, which can train small athletes able to use (by professionals) the famous bicycles driven by Alex Zanardi. For the restart, the Ballerini cycling school opens to new members and welcomes young people (and their families) who want to try handbike and hugbike.

Thanks to Urbis, Pino Marzano has also cut the ribbon of the renewed "Bike Academy" (with mobile bicycle workshop and skill park, a didactic play area), created by the amateur cycling sports group of Bari which since 1997 has been operating in Bari, for carry out projects that have as their purpose the organization, protection and promotion of cycling, with an inclusive and educational spirit.
From September the schools of the San Paolo district will also be involved.
