Alexader Bike Hotel, in Gabicce Mare: ready , steady ... go: the new 2012 season begins!

The ideal place for cycling holidays. The hotel Alexander in Gabicce Mare begins the 2012 season with  new challenges and innovation. The new bike season of the elegant four-star hotel in  Gabicce Mare, overlooking the sea and located in one of the most beautiful and suggestive spots of the Adriatic coast, will last from April 1^st  until September 30^th . Six long months that will see the presence of cyclists and bike tourists, looking for challenges and emotions, coming from the most different countries:  about 90%  of them come from Europe, especially from German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), but also from Holland, Scandinavia, Slovenia, France and Great Britain, all ready to ride the Alexander’s BIANCHI bikes, and cycle up and down  the hills of the beautiful countryside between Marche and Romagna.

Thanks to the successful cooperation started in 2011, the Lombard company, will be the representative brand of the Alexander even in the current season ."The co-marketing relationship with Bianchi has been consolidated - says the Director of the hotel, Roberto Colombari - our guests are proud to rent these bikes, which boast  a long history of records and champions such as Girardengo, Coppi, Gimondi and Pantani. This year, the BIANCHI range will be even larger, with new frames:  "SEMPRE" and "CAMALEONTE CROSS", the latest model of trekking bike. But our guests will also have the opportunity to test the top models  "INFINITO" and “OLTRE” for some test rides.

After the success of the WPCC, the World Championship for Cycling  Journalists, the imminent passage of the “Giro d’Italia”    ( May 10^th  with the Mountain  GP in Gabicce Monte) and the application for hosting one stage of the Tirreno Adriatico 2013, the Alexander and Gabicce Mare, which are more and more “bike friendly”  are getting ready for a 2012 rich of events. "Our offer extends to all levels: from beginners, wearing  bike uniforms and shoes for the first time, to amateurs of all ages who enjoy long bike tours in “gran turismo style” , up to the real agonists, who use their holiday at the Alexander as a training camp with daily training sessions and the aim to prepare the Gran Fondo races. Not to forget,  the mountain bike tours along  trails, parks and protected areas.

The tours, scheduled on various routes and distances, tailored to different levels of preparation stretch through the hills of Montefeltro, the Conca Valley and the whole hinterland. To accompany the tourists a German mother tongue guide  and two Italians. "Jorg is the group leader of many guest –friends coming from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, while Claudio and Andrea are local guides with an excellent knowledge of the area, the villages and medieval towns on the border between Marche and Romagna.

Gabicce and the Alexander represent a winning choice for an active cycling holiday: especially their  position out of the chaotic traffic, with the sea nearby, the green and the quiet. Nevertheless, with the possibility of reaching within "walking distance" strolling areas, both commercial and shopping centers:  Gabicce central square (300 m), Cattolica (1km).

Services: In addition to classic services, such as: private parking, heated pool, wellness center, you will find specific services for bikers: a safe deposit for  bicycles, immediate first aid assistance in case of accident or breakdown, mechanic’s service, daily laundry service for bike clothing, buffet lunch available until 4:00 pm ( on return from the bike tours), as well as weekly tasting of wine and typical dairy products.

"Our  target is to expand our clientele to North Europe - concludes Mr Colombari - our recent presence at the Utrecht Bike Fair,  together with Bianchi, gave us very positive feedback; at the same time we are working to promote our product during low season periods  in Australia, the United States and Canada. A commitment to increase presences in low season  for the benefit of our tourism in Gabicce Mare, and thus to extend the opening period of our structure from 6 to 8 months."
