Francesco Moser, classe 1951, è stato il protagonista di un’epoca splendida del grande ciclismo mondiale con i suoi profondi valori: il sacrificio, la lealtà, la grinta, l’entusiasmo di mettersi in gioco in prima persona e non accontentarsi mai.

Tutto questo - i racconti, gli aneddoti inediti, le foto d’archivio, i dettagli tecnici delle biciclette - sarà racchiuso nell’atteso libro “Francesco Moser - Un uomo, una bicicletta” che uscirà il 9 marzo per Azzurra Publishing.

Con 273 vittorie su strada da professionista, tra il 1973 al 1988, risulta tutt'oggi il ciclista italiano con il maggior numero di successi e, secondo il sito specializzato ProCyclingStats, è il secondo più importante ciclista al mondo.

Ha vinto diverse classiche: due Giri di Lombardia, una Freccia Vallone, una Gand-Wevelgem e una Milano-Sanremo, oltre a un campionato del mondo su strada e a uno su pista, nell’inseguimento individuale. È stato tre volte vincitore della Parigi-Roubaix (1978, 1979, 1980), vincitore del Giro D’Italia nel 1984, anno in cui ha battuto anche il record dell'ora a Città del Messico frantumando quello di Eddy Merckx, che durava da dodici anni.

Innovatore in campo tecnologico, dal 1979 ha curato personalmente le sue biciclette, immaginando nuove soluzioni e costruendo con il suo team telai di qualità che venivano marchiati con il nome Moser. Non a caso, oggi il campione trentino è riconosciuto come l’inventore del ciclismo moderno, colui che ha saputo riconoscere l’importanza di un team dietro ai successi: ingegneri, medici, nutrizionisti, preparatori atletici, tutti insieme per lanciare il ciclismo nell’era della scienza applicata allo sport. 

“Francesco Moser - Un uomo, una bicicletta”, un volume imperdibile da collezione con copertina rigida e carta patinata, a cura di Beppe Conti, racconta la straordinaria vicenda di un uomo che con la sua intraprendenza ha lasciato un segno indelebile nella storia.

Francesco Moser, born in 1951, was the protagonist of a splendid era of great world cycling with his profound values: sacrifice, loyalty, determination, the enthusiasm to get involved and never be satisfied.

All this - the stories, the unpublished anecdotes, the archive photos, the technical details of the bicycles - will be contained in the awaited book "Francesco Moser - A man, a bicycle" which will be released on 9 March by Azzurra Publishing.

With 273 victories on the road as a professional, between 1973 and 1988, he is still the Italian cyclist with the most successes and, according to the specialized site ProCyclingStats, is the second most important cyclist in the world.

He has won several classics: two Tours of Lombardy, a Freccia Vallone, a Ghent-Wevelgem and a Milan-Sanremo, as well as a world championship on the road and one on the track, in the individual pursuit. He was three times winner of the Paris-Roubaix (1978, 1979, 1980), winner of the Giro D 'Italia in 1984, the year in which he also broke the hour record in Mexico City by shattering that of Eddy Merckx, which lasted for twelve years.

Technological innovator, since 1979 he has personally looked after his bicycles, imagining new solutions and building quality frames with his team that were branded with the name Moser. Not surprisingly, today the Trentino champion is recognized as the inventor of modern cycling, the one who was able to recognize the importance of a team behind the successes: engineers, doctors, nutritionists, athletic trainers, all together to launch cycling in the era of science applied to sport.
