Alberto, giovane liceale, manifesta per la libertà del Cile.

Quarant'anni dopo decide di scoprire a pedali la Patagonia cilena, territorio affascinante abitato da una natura selvaggia e spesso ostile, solcato da fiordi, vulcani, foreste impenetrabili abbarbicate all'aspra Cordigliera delle Ande, sconfinate distese di ghiacciai, e popolato di animali selvatici.

Alberto monta in bicicletta in compagnia del figlio Fausto e del fidato amico Dino per attraversare questo territorio lungo la Carretera Austral, un must dell'on-the-road, in direzione di Ushuaia.
1240 chilometri verso il nulla faranno rotolare i tre protagonisti verso sud, sballottati come in una centrifuga dal ripio, il famigerato fondo sterrato.

Forty years later he decides to discover Chilean Patagonia by pedal, a fascinating territory inhabited by a wild and often hostile nature, furrowed by fjords, volcanoes, impenetrable forests clinging to the rugged Andes mountain range, boundless expanses of glaciers, and populated by wild animals .

Alberto rides a bicycle in the company of his son Fausto and trusted friend Dino to cross this territory along the Carretera Austral, a must on the road, in the direction of Ushuaia.
1240 kilometers towards nowhere will make the three protagonists roll towards the south, tossed about as in a centrifuge from the ripio, the infamous dirt road.
