Nella splendida riviera marchigiana di Gabicce Mare procede senza sosta la macchina organizzativa della 1ª edizione di “Italian Gravel Trophy”, la nuova “due giorni” cicloturistica che – in collaborazione con l’associazione albergatori “Welcome to Gabicce” col patrocinio del Comune di Gabicce Mare e della Regione Marche – il primo weekend di settembre (sabato 4 e domenica 5) riempirà di biciclette il magico territorio nella provincia di Pesaro-Urbino.
Sulla riviera adriatica si tratta del primo evento in assoluto dedicato al Gravel, un segmento emergente del mondo delle due ruote che, secondo gli indicatori del mercato, registra oggi il gradimento più elevato e trasversale tra i bikers europei.
Nei giorni scorsi, in occasione di un sopralluogo sui tracciati che ospiteranno il primo “Italian Gravel Trophy”, sono state presentate ufficiosamente le maglie della manifestazione.
Per l’occasione erano presenti l’assessore allo sport e benessere del comune di Gabicce Mare Roberto Reggiani, l’assessore al turismo e ai servizi sociali, nonché vicesindaco, avvocato Marila Girolomoni, il presidente dell’Associazione “Welcome to Gabicce” Elisa Scola ed il Vice Presidente della stessa associazione Francesco Ceccarelli.
“Italian Gravel Trophy” è una manifestazione sportiva, ma soprattutto è un progetto di marketing territoriale dedicato al cicloturismo che nasce da un’analisi accurata del mondo bike. La location, infatti, non è affatto casuale, perché Gabicce vanta una consolidata tradizione di promozione sportiva e di cultura ciclistica e, nel corso degli anni, è stato il Comune che nel suo litorale e nel vicino Parco di San Bartolo ha richiamato il maggior numero di ciclisti dai vari paesi europei.
Il tracciato percorrerà le strade bianche e rurali dell’entroterra nel comprensorio del comune di Gabicce Mare, ma anche quello della provincia di Pesaro-Urbino con le sue attrazioni storiche e monumentali per giungere nel Parco Naturale del Monte San Bartolo, offrendo così un’opportunità di grande visibilità anche a quella ricca rete di strutture ricettive (agriturismi, cantine vinicole, realtà eno-gastronomiche) solitamente non adeguatamente valorizzate dai circuiti classici del turismo balneare.
Anche per questo, la manifestazione – oltre che alle Gravel-bike – sarà aperta ad ogni altra tipologia di mezzo (mtb, e-bike e bici da lunghi viaggi).
La gara sarà preceduta da una giornata promozionale (il sabato) interamente dedicata al fenomeno Gravel. Nel ricco e dinamico Bike-Village si svolgeranno conferenze, incontri B2B e B2C, presentazione di anteprime e momenti di entertainment, oltre alla rituale cerimonia del ritiro del pacco gara e del numero di partecipazione. L’obiettivo, secondo gli organizzatori, è l’affermazione di un modello di promozione turistica e ricettività che possa generare arrivi e presenze sul territorio di Gabicce in tutti i mesi dell’anno.

On the Adriatic coast this is the first event ever dedicated to Gravel, an emerging segment of the two-wheel world which, according to market indicators, today has the highest and most transversal popularity among European bikers.
In recent days, on the occasion of an inspection on the tracks that will host the first “Italian Gravel Trophy”, the jerseys of the event were unofficially presented.
For the occasion were present the councilor for sport and well-being of the municipality of Gabicce Mare Roberto Reggiani, the councilor for tourism and social services, as well as deputy mayor, lawyer Marila Girolomoni, the president of the "Welcome to Gabicce" Association Elisa Scola and the Vice President of the same association Francesco Ceccarelli.
"Italian Gravel Trophy" is a sporting event, but above all it is a territorial marketing project dedicated to cycle tourism that stems from an accurate analysis of the bike world. The location, in fact, is not at all accidental, because Gabicce boasts a consolidated tradition of sports promotion and cycling culture and, over the years, it has been the Municipality that has attracted the largest number of of cyclists from various European countries.
The route will cover the white and rural roads of the hinterland in the district of the municipality of Gabicce Mare, but also that of the province of Pesaro-Urbino with its historical and monumental attractions to reach the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, thus offering an opportunity of great visibility also to that rich network of accommodation facilities (farmhouses, wineries, eno-gastronomic realities) usually not adequately exploited by the classic circuits of seaside tourism.
Also for this reason, the event - in addition to Gravel-bikes - will be open to any other type of vehicle (mtb, e-bike and long-distance bike).
The race will be preceded by a promotional day (Saturday) entirely dedicated to the Gravel phenomenon. In the rich and dynamic Bike-Village there will be conferences, B2B and B2C meetings, presentation of previews and moments of entertainment, as well as the ritual ceremony of collecting the race package and the participation number. The goal, according to the organizers, is the affirmation of a model of tourism promotion and accommodation that can generate arrivals and presences in the Gabicce area in all months of the year.
