Un racconto che indaga la dimensione umana di uno degli sport più seguiti dal grande pubblico, che va oltre le gesta sportive e svela le alchimie del ciclismo, l’unico sport, come ripeteva Gianni Mura, dove “chi fugge non è un vigliacco”.

A story in images that does not limit itself to bearing witness to the exploits of the champions and the great international events, the Tour de France first and foremost, but also the daily and surprising humanity of all those who are in some way involved.

Unlike traditional sports photography, the images collected here - selected from the enormous archive of the famous American agency, founded in New York in 1947 - tell the story of cycling through the sensitivity and irony of these authors, in a journey in stages that starts from the shots of Robert Capa and reaches the present day, through the lens of Alex Majoli. 

A story that investigates the human dimension of one of the sports most followed by the general public, which goes beyond sporting exploits and reveals the alchemy of cycling, the only sport, as Gianni Mura repeated, where "those who flee are not cowards".
