ORBIS: l'app che trova il percorso in bici più fresco e sicuro

 Immaginate un navigatore che non vi indichi solo la strada più breve, ma anche quella più sicura, meno impegnativa e persino più fresca nelle giornate estive.

È questa l'idea alla base di ORBIS (Open Routing for Bike Intermodal Systems), il nuovo progetto sviluppato da SuperUrbanity e vincitore del programma europeo EIT Urban Mobility RAPTOR 2026.

L'app utilizza intelligenza artificiale e dati aggiornati in tempo reale per proporre diversi itinerari in base alle esigenze del ciclista: il più veloce, il più sicuro, il meno ripido, il più panoramico o quello con maggiore ombreggiatura durante le giornate più calde.

Il progetto pilota prenderà il via a Trento, città da anni all'avanguardia nella mobilità sostenibile, dove cittadini e turisti potranno testare il servizio entro la fine del 2026.

Oltre a migliorare l'esperienza di chi pedala, ORBIS aiuterà anche le amministrazioni locali a raccogliere dati utili per sviluppare reti ciclabili sempre più efficienti e sicure.

Una dimostrazione concreta di come tecnologia e ciclismo possano lavorare insieme per rendere gli spostamenti quotidiani più piacevoli, sostenibili e accessibili.

ORBIS: The Smart App That Finds the Coolest and Safest Cycling Route

Imagine a cycling navigation app that doesn't simply choose the shortest route, but also the safest, easiest and even the coolest one on hot summer days.

That's the idea behind ORBIS (Open Routing for Bike Intermodal Systems), a new project developed by SuperUrbanity and selected by the EIT Urban Mobility RAPTOR 2026 programme.

Using artificial intelligence and real-time data, the app offers different route options based on each rider's preferences: the fastest, the safest, the least hilly, the most scenic or the most shaded during warm weather.

The pilot project will start in Trento, one of Italy's leading cities for sustainable mobility, where residents and visitors will be able to test the service by the end of 2026.

Beyond improving the cycling experience, ORBIS will also provide valuable data to local authorities, helping them plan safer and more efficient cycling networks.
