E' stato presentato il primo prototipo di una bici-ambulanza di nome Flamingo nata dalla tesi di laurea di una studentessa del Politecnico di Milano, Marta Alice Fattorossi, che l’ha poi progettata e realizzata insieme con il Prof. Francesco Trabucco.
La struttura può essere collegata a qualsiasi bicicletta e consente a chi sta pedalando di monitorare costantemente il paziente trasportato. Flamingo ha anche tre modalità – sidecar, carriola, barella – che consentono di venire incontro a diverse necessità a seconda delle esigenze, rendendo il mezzo versatile e adattabile.
Marta Alice Fattorossi sta realizzando un manuale di istruzioni molto semplice e con tante figure, “in stile Ikea”, per consentire a chi ne ha bisogno di costruirsi la propria bici-ambulanza: un progetto senza fine di lucro protetto a questo scopo da un brevetto del Politecnico di Milano.
