Gillardeau

Il nome Gillardeau dice poco in Italia. Per conoscerlo bisogna andare nella Francia occidentale, tra La Rochelle e all'Île d'Oléron, oppure essere grandi intenditori di ostriche. Gérard Gillardeau ha fondato l’omonima azienda che è famosa ancora oggi nel 1898 ed era un appassionato di biciclette, oltre che di ostricoltura.

Anche per questo l’ostricoltore Gillardeau si è alleato con Peugeot e, avendo una sede a Saint-Martin-de-Ré, propone il noleggio di una foodbike per fare un pic-nic in riva al mare, con la famiglia o con gli amici, mangiando ostriche, naturalmente.

Quando la foodbike è in movimento un tavolo protegge il piano di lavoro e l’apertura dei vani per gli oggetti, mentre da ferma si apre e funge da banco bar per le degustazioni. Il piano di lavoro integra tre scomparti per riporre gli oggetti e c’è persino un frigorifero che permette di mantenere al fresco le ostriche e le bevande. Terminato il pic-nic, un cestino permette di stoccare i gusci vuoti delle ostriche.

Véronique Gillardeau, condirettrice dell’omonima azienda, ha raccontato di voler proporre ai clienti un concetto inedito, adatto all’isola di Ré. “Con i designer di Peugeot è emersa l’idea della foodbike: i nostri clienti che la noleggiano possono gustare le ostriche Gillardeau sulla struttura che si apre sulla bici, godendosi il panorama. Ho chiamato questa foodbike “Le petit Gégé”, in omaggio a una foodbike alto di gamma progettata dal Peugeot Design Lab”.

La progettazione della foodbike, che riprende lo spirito dei punti vendita itineranti chiamati “Marcelle”, progettati dal Peugeot Design Lab per Gillardeau a metà del 2017, è durata tre mesi. La trasformazione è stata realizzata da GRUAU, a Le Mans.

When the foodbike is in motion a table protects the worktop and the opening of the compartments for the objects, while from a stand it opens and acts as a bar counter for tastings. The worktop integrates three compartments for storing items and there is even a refrigerator that keeps oysters and drinks cool. 

After the picnic, a basket allows you to store the empty shells of oysters.

Véronique Gillardeau, co-director of the company of the same name, said she wanted to offer customers an original concept, suitable for the island of Ré. "With the Peugeot designers, the idea of ​​the foodbike emerged: our customers who rent it can taste the Gillardeau oysters on the structure that opens on the bike, enjoying the view. I called this foodbike "Le petit Gégé", in homage to a high-end foodbike designed by the Peugeot Design Lab ".

The design of the foodbike, which reflects the spirit of the itinerant sales points called "Marcelle", designed by the Peugeot Design Lab for Gillardeau in mid-2017, lasted three months. The transformation was carried out by GRUAU, in Le Mans.
