La seconda giovinezza della bicicletta e l’ecologia urbana

Nonostante i suoi due secoli di vita, la bicicletta sta vivendo una seconda giovinezza. E la mobilità del futuro, sempre più ecosostenibile ed ecocompatibile, non potrà farne a meno. “La bicicletta fa bene alle persone, all’ambiente – dice Pierangelo Soldavini, giornalista de Il Sole 24 Ore e autore del libro Bikeconomy – e fa bene anche all’economia“. 

Lo dimostra l’inserto pubblicato da Il Sole 24 Ore e dedicato proprio all’industria, alla mobilità e alle opportunità del mezzo: “La bici oggi si ripropone come una piattaforma molto moderna, che abilita la logistica, la mobilità sostenibile, aiuta il turismo lento, porta benessere, è cultura”. Ma è anche uno strumento che “fa parte del lusso, perché c’è una parte di mercato molto elevata che ha raggiunto livelli di prezzi da alta moda, come ad esempio il produttore di abbigliamento sportivo ‘La passione’ che è passato a multipli simili a quelli di una casa di alta moda. 

Per l’Italia sarebbe un’enorme potenzialità se utilizzassimo di più la bicicletta”.

“Lo studio delle relazioni degli esseri viventi tra loro e con l’ambiente in cui vivono, una scienza delle relazioni e della complessità che queste relazioni generano. E se l’ambiente è urbano, si parla di ecologia urbana”. Questa è la definizione che il docente di Ecologia dell’Università degli Studi dell’Aquila, Simone Fattorini, dà del termine ‘ecologia’. Nel suo ultimo libro Ecologia Urbana (Ediesse), Fattorini indaga proprio le dinamiche che si generano tra diverse specie all’interno dell’ecosistema urbano.

 “Le città storiche hanno al loro interno aree verdi di origini remote, piene di alberi vetusti con specie appartenenti a foreste antiche non più rintracciabili altrove. Paradossalmente alcune specie si trovano meglio nella città che in contesti rurali”. Ma nelle relazioni che si instaurano nell’ecosistema urbano “l’uomo c’entra in maniera pesante e la convivenza può essere difficile”.

And if the environment is urban, we talk about urban ecology ”. This is the definition that the professor of Ecology of the University of L'Aquila, Simone Fattorini, gives of the term "ecology". In his latest book Ecologia Urbana (Ediesse), Fattorini investigates the dynamics that are generated between different species within the urban ecosystem.

 "The historic cities have green areas of remote origins, full of ancient trees with species belonging to ancient forests no longer found elsewhere. Paradoxically, some species are better found in the city than in rural contexts ”. But in the relationships that are established in the urban ecosystem "man has a heavy burden and cohabitation can be difficult".
