Bike park “Michele Scarponi”

Il 23 febbraio nascerà a Fermignano il bike park “Michele Scarponi”. Una struttura sportiva di 4.500 metri quadrati con curve, salti e pendenze per allenarsi in sella alla propria mountain bike senza doversi avventurare fuori città, dedicato al ciclista marchigiano investito nel 2017 durante un allenamento in strada.

 “Si tratta di una roba unica in Italia, il primo progetto dedicato solo alle mountain bike”, spiega il sindaco di Fermignano Emanuele Feduzi.

A tagliare il nastro all’inaugurazione in via Serra Alta saranno i familiari dello stesso Scarponi, “L’aquila di Filottrano”, vincitore nel 2011 del Giro d’Italia. “A volte un sogno si realizza – commenta la Fondazione Michele Scarponi – grazie al sindaco ciclista Feduzi e a tutti i cittadini per aver regalato ai ragazzi che amano fare sport in bici questa opportunità stupenda e sicura”.

La nuova casa per gli appassionati  è la risposta comunale a un movimento ciclistico che nelle zone del Furlo gode di forte partecipazione. La struttura, realizzata con il finanziamento di fondi europei indiretti, presenta un percorso con salite e discese ma anche zone per fare salti e allenarsi sulle curve. Un aiuto nella progettazione è arrivato dal team ciclistico locale Asd Mondobici Tecnoplast che con 180 tesserati è uno dei più importanti del centro Italia.

On 23 February the bike park "Michele Scarponi" will be born in Fermignano. A 4,500 square meter sports facility with curves, jumps and slopes to train on your mountain bike without having to venture out of town, dedicated to the cyclist from the Marche who was invested in 2017 during a training session on the street. "This is a unique stuff in Italy, the first project dedicated only to mountain bikes", explains the mayor of Fermignano Emanuele Feduzi.

The family of Scarponi himself, "The Eagle of Filottrano", winner of the Giro d'Italia in 2011, will cut the ribbon at the inauguration in via Serra Alta. "Sometimes a dream comes true - comments the Michele Scarponi Foundation - thanks to the cyclist mayor Feduzi and to all citizens for having given this wonderful and safe opportunity to kids who love to do sports by bike".

The new home for fans is the municipal response to a cycling movement that enjoys strong participation in the areas of Furlo. The structure, built with the funding of indirect European funds, has a path with ups and downs but also areas for jumping and training on the curves. A help in the design came from the local cycling team Asd Mondobici Tecnoplast which with 180 members is one of the most important in central Italy.
