Bici & Rock 'n roll

 Il ciclismo ha ispirato una delle canzoni rock più divertenti di sempre, Bicycle Race dei Queen, uno dei pezzi che definisce il talento e l’ispirazione stravagante di Freddie Mercury: un giorno del 1978 era seduto ai tavolini del bar di un hotel di Montreaux durate una pausa delle session di registrazione dell’album Jazz ai Montain Studios, ha visto passare i ciclisti impegnati nella diciottesima tappa del Tour de France che attraversa la Svizzera e preso dall’entusiasmo scrive di getto il suo inno al ciclismo in chiave rock, inserendo anche il suono di decine di campanelli da bicicletta prima dell’assolo di chitarra di Brian May.

Ma anche il rock è una grande fonte di ispirazione per il ciclismo, come dimostra una divertente classifica delle canzoni più ascoltate dai ciclisti nel mondo fatta dal sito specializzato eBikes.org. In un mondo di playlist, c’è anche quella creata intervistando oltre mille ciclisti (professionisti e amatoriali) e chiedendo cosa amano ascoltare per darsi la carica durante gli allenamenti e le gare.

Venticinque canzoni in cui il rock domina: la prima posizione è Thunderstruck degli AC/DC, seguita da Highway to Hell e da Fortunate Son dei Creedence Clearwater Revival e ancora dagli AC/DC con Back in Black. Al quinto posto c’è Sweet Child O’Mine dei Guns N' Roses, che occupano altre due posizioni, la numero 10 con Welcome to the Jungle e la numero 14 con Paradise City. Gli AC/DC tornano anche al numero 7 con You Shook Me All Night Long e tra gli altri brani ci sono Sweet Home Alabama dei Lynryd Skynyrd (che sono anche al numero 21 con Free Bird), In the End dei Linkin Park, Smells Like Teen Spirit dei Nirvana, Crazy Train di Ozzy Osbourne e Seven Nation Army dei White Stripes. Nella classifica generale degli artisti più ascoltati dai ciclisti (che amano molto anche il rap e il pop, da Drake a Kandrick Lamar a Eminem a The Weeknd), gli AC/DC sono al quinto posto, i Metallica al numero 16, i Linkin Park alla posizione numero 20. I Queen, nonostante l’inno rock al ciclismo Bicycle Race, chiudono la corsa al venticinquesimo posto.
