Tre maglie iridate UCI conquistate in tre anni consecutivi, come nessuno prima di lui. Basterebbe questo per raccontare chi è Peter Sagan. Ma il più forte ciclista slovacco di tutti i tempi è molto di più. Un finisseur capace di sparate fulminanti negli ultimi chilometri? Uno scattista? A giudicare dalle sue vittorie, è una miscela esplosiva di tutto questo. Definire il Sagan uomo è forse ancora più difficile. Il personaggio abbaglia. «Tourminator» è uno showman unico, capace, in un ambiente tutto sudore e fatica, di divertire il pubblico con improvvise impennate su una ruota sola, in corsa, anche al cospetto di «giganti» come il Mont Ventoux, o di lanciarsi in gustosi siparietti in conferenza stampa o in esultanze fantasiose e sempre diverse sulla linea del traguardo. E di divertirsi tra feste e scherzi con i compagni di squadra, e qualche birra di troppo. Ma la persona, lontano dai riflettori, è di grande spessore. E per la prima volta possiamo conoscerla a tutto tondo. Il legame forte col padre e quello simbiotico col fratello ciclista Juraj.
