Titanium Zero

 Il marchio cinese Urtopia chiama il suo ultimo progetto "Titanium Zero" e presenta la leggera e-bike al CES di Las Vegas. Come riporta Heise Medien, media partner ufficiale del CES 2025, la e-bike Urtopia pesa solo dieci chilogrammi, compresi batteria e motore. Il motore pesa solo 1,2 chili, eroga 65 Nm ed è appena più grande di una lattina di bibita.

Heise Medien scrive anche che è stato investito circa un milione di dollari nello sviluppo della e-bike, citando Bo Zhang, il CEO di Urtopia. Egli stima il valore dei componenti della bici a 50.000 dollari americani. Il telaio in titanio della bici da corsa proviene da una stampante 3D. Secondo Zhang, il motore sviluppato da lui stesso è appena visibile nel movimento centrale, si chiama Quark DM 1.2 e pesa 1,2 chilogrammi.

La batteria si trova nel telaio e dovrebbe guadagnare punti grazie all'alta densità energetica, alle dimensioni compatte e al peso ridotto. Urtopia parla di 300 Wh/kg, senza menzionare la capacità totale della batteria o l'autonomia massima che il prototipo potrebbe raggiungere con essa. Il produttore ha installato un deragliatore elettronico a 12 velocità di SRAM. Secondo Heise Medien, la Urtopia "Titanium Zero" è solo un prototipo senza prospettive di produzione in serie, ma l'esperienza acquisita con questo progetto confluirà nelle future biciclette di serie del produttore.

Heise Medien also writes that around one million dollars were invested in the development of the e-bike, citing Bo Zhang, the CEO of Urtopia. He estimates the value of the bike's components at 50,000 US dollars. The titanium frame of the racing bike comes from a 3D printer. According to Zhang, the motor developed by himself is barely visible in the bottom bracket, is called Quark DM 1.2 and weighs 1.2 kilograms.

The battery is located in the frame and should score points with its high energy density, compact dimensions and low weight. Urtopia speaks of 300 Wh/kg, without mentioning the total battery capacity or the maximum range that the prototype could achieve with it. The manufacturer has installed a 12-speed electronic derailleur from SRAM. According to Heise Medien, the Urtopia "Titanium Zero" is only a prototype without any prospects of series production, but the experience gained from this project will flow into the manufacturer's future series bikes.
