Ha unito il mondo con le sue biciclette, ora le Nazioni Unite premiano con il #WorldBicycleDay Ernesto Colnago per la sua attività di promozione e sviluppo delle due ruote e dei loro valori.
Fin dalla sua nascita nell'aprile del 2018, il WorldBicycleDay - voluto dal presidente fondatore Leszek Sibilski e sostenuto con una risoluzione delle Nazioni Unite – ha come scopo quello di promuovere la consapevolezza dei benefici sociali derivanti dall’uso della bicicletta e premiare l'eccellenza del mondo delle due ruote, riconoscendo il merito a chi si è adoperato negli anni alla promozione di questo antico e affascinante mezzo.
Quest'anno, per l'attività e la storia di una delle figure più alte e riconosciute e apprezzate nel mondo delle due ruote, capace di reinventare il mezzo immaginato da Leonardo, è stato insignito di questo prestigioso riconoscimento Ernesto Colnago, uno di protagonisti storici delle due ruote italiane: uno degli artefici della storia del ciclismo nazionale e internazionale che in questi anni ha ridisegnato più e più volte uno dei mezzi di locomozione più utilizzati dall'umanità.
Il premio va a onorare un uomo che con fatica e amore ha costruito una delle aziende più apprezzate nel mondo. Un artigiano che ha lavorato con e per i più grandi corridori della storia del ciclismo: da Fiorenzo Magni a Eddy Merckx; da Giuseppe Saronni a Tadej Pogacar.
