Un risultato registrato dall’osservatorio sulla bicicletta della Regione di Bruxelles ha confermato l’interesse crescente della popolazione per le due ruote.
Alcuni conteggi manuali realizzati lo scorso anno in 26 località diverse hanno registrato qualcosa come 35 mila ciclisti al giorno, con una media di 275 all’ora. Nel 2013 erano “solo” 16 mila, in media 150 ogni ora.
Secondo l’assessore alla mobilità Pascal Smet questi dati sono il risultato degli investimenti della città in infrastrutture ciclabili sicure e moderne. Il tutto a dimostrazione che realizzare ciclabili di qualità significa avere più ciclisti e meno auto in strada.
Bruxelles punta a migliorare ulteriormente la propria dotazione infrastrutturale e ad aggiungere ai 70 km di piste ciclabili già esistenti nuovi percorsi, soprattutto nella parte esterna al centro città.
Brussels has doubled the number of cyclists in 5 years, only in 2018 the city has registered an increase of 16% of people who choose the bicycle for their travels.
A result recorded by the Brussels region bicycle observatory confirmed the growing interest of the two-wheeler population.
Some manual counts realized last year in 26 different locations recorded something like 35 thousand cyclists per day, with an average of 275 per hour. In 2013, only 16,000 were "only", an average of 150 per hour.
According to the mobility councilor Pascal Smet, these data are the result of the city's investments in safe and modern cycle infrastructures. All this proves that making quality cycle paths means having more cyclists and fewer cars on the road.
Brussels aims to further improve its infrastructure and to add new routes to the 70 km of existing cycle paths, especially in the area outside the city center.
