BiCiclope

Arriva da Bologna BiCiclope, il primo “antifurto social” per le biciclette ideato da Francesco Girelli e Stefano Rosanelli. Insieme hanno fondato la startup Telamone S.r.l., che proprio per il progetto BiCiclope si è aggiudicata nel 2017 il Bando a sostegno delle Start up innovative della Regione Emilia Romagna.

Attraverso una rete di sensori, app per smartphone e la fondamentale collaborazione fra persone, BiCiclope promette di contrastare il problema dei furti. E' composto da un sensore installabile su qualunque bicicletta, nascosto, che sfrutta la tecnologia Bluetooth Low Energy. Dopo l’acquisto e installazione del sensore, l’utente può registrarlo e attivarlo tramite l’app, scaricabile gratuitamente dagli store iOS e Android, associandolo alla propria bicicletta, della quale potrà caricare anche l’immagine-profilo.

In caso di furto o smarrimento della bici, l’utente farà una segnalazione tramite l’app al servizio in cloud: a partire dalla segnalazione si attiva il sistema di tracciabilità della bicicletta rubata, mentre i dispositivi di altri utenti dell’app rileveranno e comunicheranno automaticamente alla persona derubata la presenza della bicicletta. Non è necessaria dunque alcuna azione, poiché è l’app stessa a inviare queste informazioni in background: ciò non toglie che gli utenti abbiano anche la possibilità di contattare attivamente la persona derubata per aiutarla nel recuperare la bicicletta. Ecco perché la creazione di una rete di utenti è elemento fondamentale per il successo del sistema: l’app è scaricabile da chiunque, anche non in possesso del dispositivo fisico BiCiclope, voglia entrare a far parte del social network antifurto, mettendo a disposizione il proprio dispositivo per creare una rete di controllo ed aiuto sul proprio territorio di prossimità.

The first "social burglar alarm" for bicycles created by Francesco Girelli and Stefano Rosanelli arrives from Bologna. Together they have founded the startup Telamone Srl, which for the BiCiclope project was awarded in 2017 the Call to support the innovative Start-ups of the Emilia Romagna Region.

Through a network of sensors, apps for smartphones and the fundamental collaboration between people, BiCiclope promises to counter the problem of theft. It is composed of a sensor that can be installed on any bicycle, hidden, which uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology. After the sensor has been purchased and installed, the user can register and activate it via the app, which can be downloaded for free from the iOS and Android stores, associating it with his own bicycle, from which he can also upload the profile image.

In the event of theft or loss of the bike, the user will make a report via the app to the service in the cloud: starting from the alert the traceability system of the stolen bicycle is activated, while the devices of other app users will detect and communicate automatically the presence of the bicycle to the person being robbed. Therefore no action is necessary, since the app itself sends this information in the background: this does not mean that users also have the possibility to actively contact the person being robbed to help them recover the bicycle. This is why the creation of a network of users is a fundamental element for the success of the system: the app can be downloaded by anyone, even not in possession of the physical device BiCiclope, who wants to become part of the anti-theft social network, making available its own device to create a control and help network on your local area.
