Con l'arrivo dell'inverno e l'accorciarsi delle giornate è fondamentale rendere visibile la nostra bicicletta.
Oltre al fatto che avere una bicicletta ben visibile riduce di molto il rischio di non essere visti da un’automobile, i fanali anteriore e posteriore sono obbligatori per legge. Per questi motivi occorre munirsi di una luce anteriore che permetta di illuminare bene la strada. Sempre meglio puntare su un fanale molto potente che si potrà poi regolare in altezza o in alcuni casi anche in intensità per non dare fastidio a chi viene incontro.
Esattamente come per le automobili, la legge prevede che le luci delle biciclette debbano rimanere accese da mezz’ora dopo il tramonto fino a mezz’ora prima dell’alba. Perciò i fanali devono avere autonomia necessaria per non rimanere al buio durante la pedalata. In generale le soluzioni migliori sono i fanalini a LED ricaricabili solitamente tramite USB dotati di batterie al litio che permettono grande quantità di luce in uscita e ottima autonomia, acquistabili con poche decine di euro.
Per chi possiede un’ebike, se i fanali di serie non dovessero bastare, esistono faretti progettati per le bici a pedalata assistita.
Si può decidere di montare sui pedali, oltre ai classici catarifrangenti quasi sempre installati di serie, altre piccole luci a LED che muovendosi durante la pedalata si notano più facilmente dei faretti fissi.
Può capitare arrivando a un incrocio che le luci anteriore e posteriore non siano visibili di profilo rendendo invisibile la bicicletta agli occhi degli automobilisti, per ovviare a questo problema esistono varie soluzioni.
Le più comuni sono i catarifrangenti montati sui raggi delle ruote ma sono anche i meno visibili. Delle luci o meglio ancora le strisce a led applicate anch’esse sui raggi rendono la bicicletta più sicura non avendo bisogno di una luce proiettata. Altri piccoli gadget sono i tappi della camera d’aria illuminati che durante la rotazione creano un fascio di luce continuo oppure alcune tipologie di fanali posteriori che emanano luce anche lateralmente.
