«Ora ho una famiglia nel luogo più freddo del mondo».
Pochi giorni dopo aver annunciato di aver preso la decisione Lorenzo Barone, che dall'Umbria è partito pedalando nel desreto d'estate e fra i ghiacci siberiani d'inverno, e Aygul si sono detti sì a Pokrovsk, nella gelida Yakutiya.
Il 23enne viaggiatore solitario, ora un po' meno solitario, e Aygul si sono conosciuti durante la traversata in bicicletta della Siberia che Barone aveva completato un anno fa. Dopo il viaggio di 5 mila chilometri e la traversata in slitta del lago Baikal, i due sono andati a vivere nel villaggio di Pokrovsk, dove abitano i genitori di lei. Come aveva rivelato mamma Donatella al Messaggero, la cerimonia si è svolta in Comune alla presenza dei genitori della sposa.
Tra poche settimane, Lorenzo tenterà una nuova sfida: 2.700 chilometri sulla strada più a nord del mondo. Una sfida che aveva tentato nelle scorse settimane ma a cui ha dovuto rinunciare: gli pneumatici della bicicletta si spaccavano di continui alle temperature di -50.
Barone ha visitato già 43 paesi diversi del mondo pedalando in bicicletta per un totale di 64 mila chilometri. Il primo viaggio a 18 anni in Portogallo e poi Lapponia, sud est asiatico, deserto del Sahara, ora la Siberia.
«Non vedo l'ora di portare Aygul con me in Italia per mostrarle ogni angolo del mio paese» aveva detto Lorenzo. Immaginandosi già la scena: «Lei con il suo sorriso, la mia tenda e due zaini sperduti nella natura, passando dalle maestose Alpi alle splendide coste della Sicilia».

Barone has already visited 43 different countries around the world cycling for a total of 64,000 kilometers. The first trip at the age of 18 to Portugal and then to Lapland, Southeast Asia, the Sahara desert, now Siberia. "I can't wait to take Aygul with me to Italy to show her every corner of my country," said Lorenzo.
