Yalla Let’s Bike

"The number of people who started using the bicycle has grown exponentially: before 2013 we did not ride a bike because the social perception considered it a non-prestigious thing and for the girls the widespread belief was that they lost their virginity going by bike".

Over five years, more than 200 volunteers have joined the association, more than 35,000 are fans and 10,000 are the bikes that today run in Damascus.

The bike vendors have witnessed a 60% increase in the sale of the two wheels, 50% of the buyers are young female students, something that had never happened.

Yalla Let's Bike organizes social events, bike rides around the city, presentations, workshops and meetings to raise awareness on the issue of equal opportunities and encourage, motivate people to change.
