Today’s tour takes us inland.
A route of circa 40/45 km with two climbs before arriving in Urbino.
Our first climb takes us up and over Tavullia (birth place of Valentino Rossi). A short 3km climb with an average gradient of juts over 5%.
Then we descend down and across the valley for circa 15km before our final climb which takes though the Cesane national park.
A climb of circa 11km with spectacular views of the Catria, Petrano and Nerone mountains before entering the historic town that that will send you back to the medieval times.
Here we stop for a deserved coffee break and a chance to explore this fascinating walled city with its impressive Palazzo Ducale which houses one of the most important art galleries in Italy, featuring works by no lesser lights than Raphael, Uccello, Piero della Francesca, and Titian.
Now for the last 40km back to the hotel, and what goes up must come down!
An amazing 7km downhill awaits, before 20km of a flat fast road.
But be warned, we still have one more climb of circa 3km before descending into Gabicce and a well earned beer!
