L’azienda trevigiana Northwave ha esposto la sua collezione 2023 di scarpe e abbigliamento da bici. Oltre ai prodotti puramente tecnici e dedicati a strada e MTB, Northwave ha studiato dei capi versatili che possono essere utilizzati con le vostre MTB o gravel ma che una volta scesi dalla bici risultino comodi e pratici. Tra le novità la Tailwhip Eco Evo, calzatura MTB altamente performante, cruelty-free e bio-based fatta in collaborazione con ACBC, prima B Corp italiana del settore delle calzature e Circular Science Company (azienda il cui business model è basato sull’economia circolare di produzione).
L’eccellenza italiana e decennale di Northwave nella produzione di scarpe bike dalle elevate prestazioni si unisce quindi all’esperienza di ACBC nel campo della sostenibilità, al motto di “Ride Greener”, slogan che riassume brevemente, ma in maniera esaustiva, l’obiettivo del progetto comune. La nuova Tailwhip Eco Evo rimane da un lato fedele alla sua versione originaria e iconica, da tempo presente nel catalogo Northwave, ma si veste ora di materiali green, riciclati pre e postconsumo. Tomaia e fodera, infatti, sono realizzate in tessuto RePet derivato dal riciclo di bottiglie di plastica, con punta e tallone ulteriormente rinforzati per garantire la massima protezione in sella.
La soletta presenta uno strato superiore in RePet, mentre il sottopiede impiega parzialmente la tecnologia ReFoam (schiuma poliuretanica riciclata).
I lacci, infine, sono sempre in RePet, con colorazioni naturali non tinte. La suola flat firmata Michelin è realizzata con la tecnologia Hybrid, che riutilizza scarti di gomma di produzione delle stesse suole garantendo massimo grip sui pedali.
The Treviso-based company Northwave exhibited its 2023 collection of cycling shoes and clothing. In addition to purely technical products dedicated to road and MTB, Northwave has studied versatile garments that can be used with your MTB or gravel but that once off the bike are comfortable and practical. Among the novelties, the Tailwhip Eco Evo, a highly performing, cruelty-free and bio-based MTB shoe made in collaboration with ACBC, the first Italian B Corp in the footwear sector and Circular Science Company (a company whose business model is based on the circular economy production).
Northwave's ten-year Italian excellence in the production of high-performance bike shoes is therefore combined with ACBC's experience in the field of sustainability, with the motto of "Ride Greener", a slogan that briefly but exhaustively summarizes the goal of the joint project. On the one hand, the new Tailwhip Eco Evo remains faithful to its original and iconic version, which has long been featured in the Northwave catalog, but is now dressed in green, pre- and post-consumer recycled materials.
Upper and lining, in fact, are made of RePet fabric derived from the recycling of plastic bottles, with further reinforced toe and heel to ensure maximum protection in the saddle. The insole features a top layer in RePet, while the insole partially employs ReFoam technology (recycled polyurethane foam). Finally, the laces are always in RePet, with natural undyed colors.
The flat sole signed by Michelin is made with Hybrid technology, which reuses production rubber scraps of the same soles, guaranteeing maximum grip on the pedals.
